GOURMET GUIDED WALKS ON THE HEAPHY TRACK
We are known as the ‘gourmet guided walks company’, not only because of the high standard of food provided on our trips (we cater for all dietary requirements), but also because of the professional and personal service you receive, with a real emphasis on your comfort and enjoyment. Whether it is information on the flora and fauna, conservation gems along the way or just the great company of your group and guides, you’ll be sure to enjoy the Heaphy the ‘Gourmet Way’!
Our guided walks on the Heaphy Track are all inclusive packages for small groups (4 to 10 guests) – starting from and returning to Nelson. Depending on your time constraints, you can opt for the Classic 4 day or 5 day option – the 5 day tour splits one of the longer days in half and makes for an overall easier trip. If you want to celebrate Christmas or New Year’s Eve with flair this year, why not try our Heaphy Track Festive Experience.
On the 5 day trip we walk the track from the north (Collingwood) end and finish at the Kohaihai River on the West Coast, while the 4 day trip is walked in both directions, dependent on departure date. We stay each night in Department of Conservation huts where your guides prepare a fantastic gourmet meal. On the final day we transfer back to Nelson, arriving between 5 pm and 7 pm depending on which trip you have chosen. This enables you to explore the range of fine wining and dining options that the town has to offer. We can arrange accommodation at either end of your trip with the recommended providers listed on our linkspage.
The Classic Heaphy 4 or 5 day Packages include:
- Full pre-trip briefing the night before your departure to answer any last minute questions.
- Door to door transport, from your accommodation in Nelson, out to the track and back!
- A professional, personal and caring guiding service, with comprehensive interpretation to ensure that you get the most out of your adventure.
- Maximum group size of 10.
- Full safety management for the duration of your trip.
- All gourmet meals and drinks out on the track. (Wine in the evenings can be arranged prior to your trip as an optional upgrade!)
- A generous, healthy and energy-filled “snack pack” to nibble on during your trip.
